I'm Back!
I haven't posted in almost three weeks but I've been so busy. Work has been hectic though I can't complain because the busier it gets the more fun I have. My boyfriends mom lives a good couple of hours away from us and she had surgery on her spine so he went up to her for a week. She's in a lot of pain but she can walk which is very good. My one dog had a nasty accident and ended up with a 5cm long gash on his front leg (his metacarpus). I have no idea how he did that 'cos it happend while I was at work, but when I saw it I freaked out and started crying. Silly to cry like that but I've been so stressed out and it was just the second night I'd be without my boyfried... things just piled up. On that same day I had gone to the doctor and found out that I have a gastric ulcer (or inflamed stomach, they couldn't tell which). So I'm taking Topzole and Contromet. If the pain doesn't stop by next week I'll have to go in for a scope to ensure all is well. There is still pain just not as bad as it was 2 weeks ago.
Well back to my food...
25th November: Went to braai at a friend's place, drank 4 Cobra beers and got sick! But there were extenuating circumstances. I'd only eaten a hand full of biltong that day and I didn't know about the ulcer yet AND no body told me that the beers cans were draft size. So yes its understandable that I got sick after 2 liters of beer.
6th December: Had dinner at my parent's house. My dad was planning to make paella, but on hearing about my ulcer decided to make a VERY bland meal instead. Pitty... he's usually such a good cook, but just can't make a good bland meal. I'm not even going to tell you what it was, its just too sad.
8th December: Boyfriend arrives home from seeing his mother. Brings back a "breakfast" pie filled with tomatoe, egg, bacon, cheese and mushrooms, which I eat for dinner. Also brings back 9 liters of black pepper feta cheese... yes that means eating a lot of feta for a long time (well thats HIS plan).
10th December: I have a revelation... my boyfriend has no clue one how certain food can send me into reeling pain. I'll have to cook dinner from now on.
